News: Emmy-winning actress Hannah Einbinder arrested at Netanyahu protest

New York’taki Birleşmiş Milletler Genel Merkezi önünde İsrail Başbakanı Benjamin Netanyahu’yu protesto eden göstericiler arasında Emmy ödüllü oyuncu Hannah Einbinder de vardı. Polis, 24 Eylül 2026’da First Avenue ile 39. Cadde kavşağında yolu kapatan yaklaşık 100 kişiyi gözaltına aldı.

Emmy-winning actress Hannah Einbinder was among the demonstrators protesting Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in front of the United Nations Headquarters in New York. Police detained about 100 people who blocked the road at the intersection of First Avenue and 39th Street on September 24, 2026.

Göstericiler arasında Susan Sarandon, bazı New York milletvekilleri ve aktivistler de bulunuyordu. Hepsi “düzensiz davranış” gerekçesiyle cezai tebligat aldı ve kısa süre sonra serbest bırakıldı.

Among the demonstrators were Susan Sarandon, several New York lawmakers, and activists. All of them received criminal court summonses for “disorderly conduct” and were released shortly after.

Einbinder, gözaltına alınırken “Filistin’e özgürlük” ve “Netanyahu New York’tan defol” sloganları attı.

While being detained, Einbinder chanted “Free Palestine” and “Netanyahu, get out of New York.” In a statement she made on Instagram after being released, she urged that attention be turned to the situation in Gaza and Lebanon rather than the detention of herself or other celebrities. Emphasizing her Jewish identity, the actress described Israel’s actions as “genocide.”

Protesto, Jewish Voice for Peace tarafından Netanyahu’nun BM Genel Kurulu konuşması öncesinde düzenlendi. Göstericiler “İnsanlara değil bombalara para harcama” yazılı tişörtler giydi ve “Netanyahu’yu tutuklayın” sloganları attı.

The protest was organized by Jewish Voice for Peace ahead of Netanyahu’s UN General Assembly speech. Demonstrators wore t-shirts reading “Spend money on people, not bombs” and chanted “Arrest Netanyahu.”
